Answers to the most frequently asked questions about MagicFTP.

How do I unlock Pro?
In the app, open the menu → "Pro" and tap "Unlock Pro". The purchase is processed securely via the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). It's a one-time purchase — no subscription.
I bought Pro but it's not unlocked.
In the app, tap "Pro" → "Restore Purchases". This checks your Apple/Google account for previous purchases. If the issue persists, contact us with your order ID — we'll sort it out fast.
Does MagicFTP work with my provider (Strato, IONOS, Hetzner, AWS, etc.)?
Yes — MagicFTP supports all standard FTP, FTPS, and SFTP servers. If you have connection issues, check host, port (FTP: 21, FTPS: 21/990, SFTP: 22), username, and try toggling Passive/Active mode in server settings.
How do I connect using an SSH key (.pem file)?
When adding an SFTP server, choose "SSH Key" as the authentication method and import your private key (.pem or OpenSSH format). Passphrase-protected keys are supported.
Are my credentials stored securely?
Yes. All server credentials are encrypted and stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. Optionally, you can additionally protect the app with Face ID / Touch ID / biometrics.
How does background sync work on iOS?
iOS decides when background tasks run — typically every 1–6 hours, depending on usage patterns and battery level. Manual sync is always available via "Sync now".
On how many devices can I use Pro?
On all devices signed in with the same App Store / Google Play account. Pro can also be shared with family members via Family Sharing (if enabled).
